Can't Login to Portal - Here are the key questions


Are you using the correct email address?

The email address you use must be the one that is in our Student Information System - if you do not know it, you will need to ask Enrolment


Are you using the correct button?

Login using Azure AD Connect 


I am logged in but have an issue?

- Logout and fix possible cache issues by going to https://pinehurst.nz/fix
- Ensure the name at the top of the home page of the home page is your own (Not your son or daughters) - log out if it is not your own


I don't know my google, microsoft or email password

- You will need to manage the password reset with your email provider


Please Note: We do not manage or store passwords. We are unable to reset any caregiver passwords.

If you are using a shared browser with cached credentials from other Microsoft or Gmail accounts, we recommend using an inPrivate Window so that you log into the Portal successfully with the correct credentials


FAQ - I am not able to log in (this maybe because of cached credentials in your browser).

  • If this is the first time you are logging in, then consult the instructions page.
  • If you were able to log in previously and now are finding that your email is not recognised, click here for help..
  • If a link you have been sent is not working for you, login to the portal first and then use the link

FAQ  – I am a staff member and parent – what account do I use?

  • Login with your school email account – we have linked your caregiver information (including personal email) to your school account

FAQ - I don’t know the password for my account

  • You will need to reset your password with Microsoft, Google or your email provider. We do not store or are able to reset passwords.

FAQ – I have changed my email address

  • You can make the change in your “Update My Details” area. This will become active after it has been verified – this will likely take two business days.

FAQ – I did not receive the one time password (verification code), can you get it for me?

  • No, we do not have any control over this process. Please check your junk email. You may need to restart the login process by closing the browser and starting again

FAQ – What changes do I need to make so that I do not require a one time password each time

FAQ - What is Azure Single Sign-on?

  • Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) is a feature that lets Pinehurst school invite guests (caregivers) users to collaborate with the school. With Azure AD collaboration, the school can securely share our applications and services with external users (caregivers), while maintaining control over our own school data. Single Sign-on is the process to connect to Azure AD.



Possible Browser Identity Issues


If your username/password is no longer working, it maybe because the browser that is in use has become confused with other stored credentials.

To isolate identity issues, we recommend in the first instance:
  1. Open your browser in a new inPrivate 
    1. WindowEdge - Ctrl-Shift-N
    2. Chrome - New inCognito Window - Ctrl-Shift-N
    3. Firefox - New private Window - Ctrl-Shift-P
  2. Login to the portal, using https://portal.pinehurst.school.nz and click on the Azure Connect Button
  3. If you have a link in an email, copy the link and paste in the browser address bar

If you find that you can login using the Private window, then you may choose to continue using this method, or clear the cache from your browser. (Within the browser - use Ctrl-H to show history and then choose to clear the cache)
